Tyra Banks is one of many who lost their home to one of the recent fires in Los Angeles. The 51-year-old model revealed the news during an interview on the Australian morning news show, Sunrise. In the interview, she said she didn’t want to pull attention from others who lost their homes, and she confirmed her and her family were in Australia when they found out their home was gone. I haven’t really talked about it, um, but yeah, I have,” Tyra said on the news show. “I just didn’t want to pull a lot of attention to me, I feel like there’s a lot of people that need that attention so I haven’t talked about it. But I can’t sit here and not tell the truth that yeah, we lost our house.” One of the hosts then asked if she in Australia and how she learned her house was gone. “I was here… I don’t remember, we were at a friends house here and we were celebrating, just having fun, and I just kept checking my phone,” she said. “Not for my house, but just for friends and family, just making sure they were evacuating and everything, and then I asked my partner [Louis Bélanger-Martin]. I was like, ‘I’m seeing something here, what do you think?’ And he said, [nods], and I just pulled it together and just didn’t say anything to my friends, and just stayed in that moment.” “Then we went home and we cried, and we had our moment,” Tyra added. She also noted that they mostly split their time between Australia and New York, so they didn’t lose key mementos, but they did lose some. “It’s tough,” she said. There have been quite a few celebs who lost their homes to the devastating fires in the Los Angeles area.
