Nigeria’s Flamingos were forced to a 1-1 draw by Mexico in a friendly game on Monday.
Both teams used the friendly game as preparation for this year’s FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
Faridat Abdulkareem gave Flamingos the lead in the 33rd minute but with three minutes left in the first half Mexico equalized.
Flamingos are in Group A with hosts Dominican Republic, Ecuador and New Zealand.
They will open their campaign against New Zealand on October 16, 2024.
At the 2022 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, Flamingos finished third.
