The UK Court argues that Wright has largely issued false documents as evidence that he is the Bitcoin creator.The real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is likely to remain unknown as there is no solid trail to follow.After an attempt to compel Bitcoin (BTC) developers to bow down to him through a UK court, Australian businessman Craig Steven Wright (CSW) has been denied an application for an appeal. According to a court document dated November 29, a Judge at the UK’s Court of Appeal ruled that there was no need for another hearing since all the evidence presented by Wright concludes that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto.
“The judge had to decide a single question: is Dr Wright, as he claims to be, the person who adopted the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, who wrote and published the first version of the Bitcoin White Paper on 31 October 2008, who wrote and released the first version of the Bitcoin Source Code and who created the Bitcoin system? This is a pure question of fact. The judge found that the answer to the question was no,” the court document noted.
Closer Look at the COPA vs Wright Case
As Coinspeaker reported earlier this year, Justice James Mellor ruled that Wright is not the original author of Bitcoin’s whitepaper and, thus not the creator who goes by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. However, Wright was not satisfied with the court’s ruling and filed an application for an appeal.
Moreover, Wright believes that Bitcoin core developers have since changed the network’s original features through several upgrades including the Taproot and the SegWit. The evidence presented by Wright was, however, not sufficient enough to vindicate him as Satoshi Nakamoto.
According to the Judge, Wright lied to the court through forged documents that did not prove anything to his claims. In his defense, Wright argued that the Judge was biased in the ruling earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Crypto Open Patent Allowance (COPA) has claimed that the latest case by Wright violated the injunction. Furthermore, Wright continues to argue that the Bitcoin core developers owe him $1 trillion as he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto.
Consequently, the court will hold a two-day hearing in London on December 18, 2024, to determine whether the new case violated the injunction. With the appeal case dismissed, Wright has the option of pursuing the case further in the UK’s Supreme Court, but legal experts believe the ruling issued will be no different.
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
The real identity of the Bitcoin creator has remained unknown since its inception more than 15 years ago. Earlier last month, Home Box Office (HBO), an American pay television network, attempted to doxx Satoshi Nakamoto but failed terribly. Furthermore, HBO argued that Peter Todd is the real Bitcoin creator but he vehemently denied the claims.
The real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains irrelevant as whale investors hold the largest share of Bitcoin’s total supply.
