Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw with Everton wasn’t too remarkable, other than for one extraordinary stat.
The Premier League game, which saw two goals chalked off for offside calls, was a cagey affair and this may have come as a surprise considering one of the men on the touchline.

The game was Unai Emery’s 97th in the Premier League, and his first without a goal.
Across spells at Arsenal and Villa the Spaniard had never been in charge of a scoreless league game until turning up at Goodison Park.
That’s completely at odds with his philosophy, given what he’s previously said about his attacking outlook.
Upon arriving at the Emirates in 2018 to replace Arsene Wenger, the Spaniard was asked how he likes his teams to play.
“With personality,” he said. “This personality for all the minutes of a match: protagonists.
“I like the possession with the ball, I like good pressing against the other team. I prefer to win 5-4 than win 1-0.”
