A potential shake-up in Manchester United’s backroom staff.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake is the latest name being targeted for the new-looking coaching staff at Old Trafford.
These links come days after it emerged Ruud van Nistrelrooy would be keen on a coaching role under Erik ten Hag at United, despite being linked with the manager’s role at Burnley.
Reports in the Netherlands suggest Hake and Van Nistelrooy could join Ten Hag’s coaching team this summer.
What does this mean for Van der Gaag, McClaren and McCarthy?
With both Van Nistelrooy and Hake being linked with a move to Old Trafford, it does not look good for Ten Hag’s current coaching set-up.
The Daily Mail claims the situation regarding Mitchell Van der Gaag and Steve McClaren is less clear, while forwards coach Benni McCarthy is out of contract later this week.
Hopefully, everyone knows where they stand by the time pre-season begins.
