Erik ten Hag has been without a host of integral starters throughout the campaign, and last month, Marcus Rashford was added to the list of Manchester United’s absentees.
Indeed, the forward has been unavailable for the past four matches after he sustained an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City on April 21.
United picked up four points and scored five goals during the games Rashford was sidelined, with the manager calling upon Antony to fill the Englishman’s void for three outings before granting Amad Diallo his first start of the season.
As per Manchester Evening News, the issues keeping Rashford out of action are a bruised rib and a bruised heel. He believes the former has now fully healed but is still in discomfort with the latter.
Rashford eyes return in time for FA Cup final
He hopes to return to the squad for the Premier League’s final day this Sunday, which sees United travel to take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex.
Ten Hag had told reporters at the end of last week that the 26-year-old was fit to feature against Arsenal, yet he proceeded to be omitted from the matchday squad after not completing full training sessions in the days leading up to the clash.
