Manchester United are reportedly putting the wheels in motion for Jadon Sancho’s permanent exit from the club.

The 24-year-old enjoyed one of his most notable performances in recent years when Borussia Dortmund locked horns with Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday evening.

Niclas Füllkrug was the only goalscorer on the night after he drew first blood inside 40 minutes, but it was Sancho who reaped all the plaudits following the full-time whistle – and during it, if you were watching on TNT Sports – for his scintillating shift.

The first half saw the winger complete more dribbles (seven) than he ever recorded in a United shirt, and he didn’t show any signs of slowing down after the interval.

Sancho went on to notch 11+ take-ons by the time Anthony Taylor blew his full-time whistle, making history in doing so by becoming the first Englishman to achieve such a feat in a single Champions League game.

Eden Terzic and his men will be hoping they can either add to or cling on to their 1-0 lead when they take to the Parc des Princes next week, while the United loanee will be giddy over the prospect of getting his hands on one of football’s greatest accolades.

Sancho uninterested in United return

Sky Sports reporter Patrick Berger claims that the Red Devils are now ‘preparing’ for Sancho’s departure, with the player – who earns £290,000 per week – keen to stay at the Signal Iduna Park regardless of whether Erik ten Hag is sacked by his parent club.

At this stage, any price tag for him is yet to be confirmed, but it’s safe to say that United won’t be recuperating anywhere near the £73 million they paid back in 2021.
