Manchester United are gearing up for Sunday’s pivotal FA Cup quarter-final tie against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
As has been the case for the majority of the season so far, Erik ten Hag will be navigating an injury-plagued squad.
The likes of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial are confirmed to be unavailable, while Jonny Evans has also been added to the list after sustaining a knock during last Saturday’s win over Everton.
There are hopes that Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could return. The forward and centre-half were both called up to represent their respective national teams over the forthcoming break, all but confirming that they’re on the verge of full fitness.
This morning, United announced that Altay Bayindir will be absent from Sunday’s match due to a muscle strain, which will also rule him out of Turkey’s friendlies later this month.
The Bayindir and Evans injuries now make it 50 recorded cases of injury or illness that have led to a #mufc player missing a game(s) this season.

He was unlikely to feature anyway as, despite making his debut in the fourth round of the competition in January, this was only because Andre Onana was away at the Africa Cup of Nations. Bayindir was subsequently benched for the fifth-round win over Nottingham Forest.
