Fabrizio Romano confirmed late on Monday evening that Omari Forson would be leaving Manchester United when his contract expires in June.
Reports have previously suggested that the forward turned down contract offers from the club, with his priority – as is the case with most young talents – increased game time in the senior squad.
As such, Forson was granted seven appearances under Erik ten Hag this season – four in the Premier League and three in the FA Cup, meaning he earned himself a winners’ medal when the Reds lifted the trophy at Wembley.
However, only one of these outings has come from the offset and have all totalled a mere 87 minutes of action.
The 19-year-old made his first start in a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in February before making an eight-minute cameo in the subsequent loss to Manchester City.

Forson has his pick of potential suitors
Now, Forson has seemingly decided it’s time to take his abilities elsewhere and embark on a new venture where he can play a more prominent first-team role.
As per the Sunderland Echo, three clubs were circling the Carrington graduate in January: Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United, the latter of which would see Forson remain in the top flight.
Whether or not the trio of teams are still interested remains to be seen, although Romano did state that the United star is ‘attracting interest’ from ‘several clubs’.
