Gavi made a triumphant return to the pitch after a long absence, stepping onto the field in the 83rd minute during the thrilling 5-1 victory of Barcelona against Sevilla

This moment came after an agonising wait of 335 days, following a serious knee injury he sustained while playing for the Spanish national team.

In those brief seven minutes and 18 seconds, Gavi demonstrated the passion and intensity that fans had missed, showing no signs of being away from the game for so long.

As he entered the game, he was given the captain’s armband by Pedri, symbolising his importance to the team and the faith his teammates have in him.

The only other player who matched his accuracy was Pau Victor, who made fewer passes, completing 7 out of 7.

Gavi was not afraid to get stuck in, as he earned a foul while also committing one himself, which speaks to his willingness to compete fiercely.

Perhaps the most heartening aspect for Barcelona supporters was witnessing Gavi’s infectious energy and enthusiasm on the pitch.

He was vocal in encouraging his teammates, celebrating Pablo Torre’s goal that brought the score to 5-1, and actively seeking the ball. His ability to direct and correct his teammates’ positioning reflected his natural leadership qualities.

It was clear to everyone watching that Gavi is back, ready to make his mark once again in the Barcelona squad. His presence on the field is a boost for the team, and fans are excited to see what he will achieve in the upcoming matches.
