Shelley Lewis, a former senior executive at Wasserman and real estate and hospitality firm Caruso, has joined UTA as VP of Communications.

In announcing the hiring, UTA called Lewis “a trusted adviser to the C-suite,” noting her experience working with execs as well as media, employees, investors, analysts and clients. She will be based at UTA’s Beverly Hills headquarters.

As VP of Corporate Communications at Caruso, she led all aspects of communications including public relations, crisis management, executive communications, content development and employee engagement. Prior to Caruso, during a decade-long run at Wasserman, Lewis rose to VP. She is credited with scaling the firm’s communications capabilities, steering efforts related to more than 15 acquisitions completed by the sports marketing and talent management firm.

Lewis began her career at boutique PR agency The Thomas Collective. She also served as executive communications lead at NetApp, a Fortune 500 data storage company.

“Shelley brings a proven record of delivering articulate and impactful communications for both external and internal audiences,” said Richard Siklos, UTA’s chief communications officer. “UTA is at the center of global conversations around entertainment and culture, and Shelley will play a key role in supporting our colleagues, those conversations, and all the ways we are working on behalf of our clients.”

UTA has been engaged in a series of internal investments, acquisitions and strategic partnerships involving operations like Klutch Sports Group, MediaLink and the UK-based Curtis Brown Group. Last month, the company acquired soccer agency ROOF and opened new offices in London and Atlanta.
