Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz of Vanderpump Rules are closing down the bar they featured on the Bravo reality series.

The bar’s closure comes two years after it opened in 2022 amid “Scandoval,” the scandal that rocked the reality series after it was revealed Sandoval had been having an affair and cheating on Ariana Madix.

“With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy’s at the end of December,” read a statement from Sandoval shared on Instagram. “This hasn’t been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold. While this business venture has been an incredible stepping stone in my life, one I will always cherish, I look forward to exciting new endeavors.”

Sandoval notes that the bar will host a series of events ahead of their closure, adding, “The allure of being associated with reality TV has hidden what is an amazing spot and location for LA locals.”

Schwartz also took to Instagram to share his own statement about the bar’s closure.

“There’s no easy way to say this but after careful consideration, Greg, Tom and I made the decision to close Schwartz and Sandy’s by the end of the year. This was not an easy conclusion. So this is our farewell tour,” Schwartz said.

He continued, “There’s some peace in knowing I gave my absolute all into S&S, fully committed with every fiber in my being. To all the patrons who came in & supported us, showed me love every single night I was in there, you kept me going through some of the harder times.”

Schwartz and Sandy’s opened in 2022, and Bravo cameras followed the Toms as they worked on their first business venture away from Lisa Vanderpump, whom they had a stake in with TomTom bar. However, in 2023, Scandoval broke out months later, and the business took a hit. Sandoval became the biggest villain of reality TV, and fans flocked to social media to leave negative reviews of the establishment.

The bar could’ve benefited from the promo generated by being featured on Vanderpump Rules, but the show has been on pause, and filming for its new season has been delayed. The show’s future remains up in the air.
