According to a recent report from Fichajes, it has come to light that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Vasco da Gama’s young talent, Rayan, as they look to reinforce their attacking options for the future.

The 18-year-old Brazilian forward has emerged as a potential target for the Catalan club, with reports suggesting that he is being closely evaluated by the Barça board.

His contract with Vasco da Gama runs until December 2025, giving Barcelona two possible approaches—either negotiating a transfer in the summer or waiting until his contract expires to sign him as a free agent.

Who is Rayan?

Rayan has caught the attention of the Blaugrana after his impressive performances in the South American Under-20 Championship, where he played a key role in helping Brazil qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Chile.

His ability to operate both as a right winger and a centre forward makes him an appealing prospect for Hansi Flick’s tactical plans. His versatility allows him to fit into different attacking roles, which could prove valuable for Barcelona in the long term.

At club level, the teenager has already gained experience with Vasco da Gama’s senior team, making more than 40 appearances so far.

While his current statistics—three goals and one assist—may not be outstanding, his raw potential and ability to destabilise defences have put him on the radar of several European clubs.

Deco is focused on the South American market

Barcelona are among the most interested sides, recognising his potential to develop into a top-quality forward in the future.

Sporting director Deco remains focused on identifying young talents who can strengthen the squad in the coming years.

The possibility of securing Rayan on a free transfer at the end of 2025 makes him an attractive option, but Barcelona are also considering accelerating the process by negotiating a deal with Vasco da Gama in the summer.

The final decision will depend on how talks progress and whether the club sees value in bringing him in earlier rather than waiting for his contract to run out.
