If West Ham want to acquire any of their summer targets, it appears that they’ll need to be doing their due diligence now in order to get ahead of the competition.
The problem that the club could have is the ongoing saga over manager, David Moyes’ future.
It’s believed that the Scot has a new contract on the table waiting to be signed, and everything appeared to be positive in that regard until the East Londoners were humbled 6-0 at home by a swashbuckling Arsenal side.
With no confirmed talks since then, there’s a cogent school of thought that perhaps Moyes will walk away at the end of the season.
Moyes contract issue could hinder West Ham transfer plans
Tim Steidten worked the transfer window brilliantly last summer, bringing in the likes of Edson Alvarez, Mo Kudus, James Ward-Prowse and Dinos Mavropanos.
A perceived ongoing frustration with Moyes seemed to be what was behind a disappointing January window.
In any event, one player that the Hammers are known to covet is Gent’s marauding left wing-back, Archie Brown.

The most recent occasion was the past weekend, and the site also credit Leeds United with an interest.

Brown would appear to have the brightest of futures in the game, and if West Ham are serious about going to the next level, he is precisely the type of player that they should be looking at.
They’ll need to quickly get their own house in order if they want to be in with a chance of landing him, however.
