Barcelona have only returned from Paris yesterday after a super impressive 2-3 win at the Parc des Princes against PSG, but are already preparing for their second away trip of the week, this time to Southwestern Spain to take on Cadiz.
Cadiz has been a difficult side for Barcelona to beat since their promotion, with only three of the seven games ending in favour of the Catalans. This also includes two draws and two defeats, most notably one at the Camp Nou.
Ahead of the game, Cadiz veteran defender Fali spoke about a certain Barcelona youngster who has impressed him beyond expectations. So much so, he wants to swap shirts with him.
‘Defender for years’
As quoted by SPORT, Fali spoke about Pau Cubarsi and his impact on this Barcelona team across just three months.
“I have only asked for two shirts in my career. Tomorrow, Pau Cubarsi’ shirt could be the third,” he said.
“He is only 17 years old, and I love him as a centre-back. He makes me want to continue with my career, he inspires me. It’s very nice watching him play.”

Cubarsi vs Napoli a standout show
Cubarsi is not expected to start tomorrow with Xavi likely to rest him ahead of the second-leg against PSG. He was excellent in the first-leg, as well, but arguably his best performance of the season was vs Napoli at home in the round of 16.
And Fali, for one, agrees.
“I really wanted to watch Pau Cubarsi’s performances in the game vs Napoli, against Victor Osimhen, specifically. I really liked how he played. He did very well. Barcelona have a centre-back for many years,” the Spaniard said, almost fanboying.
