Makers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video accused of plagiarism

Producer Sanjay Tiwari has accused Raaj Shaandilyaa of plagiarism. He alleged that the plotline for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was lifted from a script originally written by a screenwriter named Gulbanu Khan. It was registered with the Screen Writers Association in 2015. Tiwari has said that they’ve sent a legal notice to the filmmaker and are awaiting a response. If there is no reply, they intend to take necessary legal action.

According to Times Now, Sanjay Tiwari accused Raaj Shaandilyaa of taking the central idea from the script written by Gulbanu Khan, titled Sex Hai To Life Hai…?, for his film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. He stated, “The central idea is, a husband and wife shoot their own private video for themselves, for a healthier relationship, and the CD/DVD goes missing. After watching the promo, we realized that Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video revolves around the same idea. So, we sent a legal notice to all the makers and are waiting for their proper response. If we do not receive a reply within the next 2-3 days, we will take appropriate action.”

Sanjay said “I had plans to start this film in 2017 – 2018. The title Sex Hai Toh Life Hai…? was registered by me with WIFPA in 2018 and we were working on the script. But because of some personal issues,it was delayed and then the pandemic started. “

Gulbanu Khan expressed disbelief that Raaj Shaandilyaa would do this. “It’s shocking that someone could misappropriate our ideas. The central idea of any film is very important. It’s like a foundation stone, without which the story and then the film cannot even be thought of. Bala and Ujda Chaman is another example where the central idea is the same,” Khan remarked.
