Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has responded to speculation over a move to Saudi Arabia.

There will be a lot of change at Manchester United this summer and Lindelof is one player who could be sold.

Few players have reason to feel safe ahead of the transfer window with Ineos Sports group expected to shake up the recruitment team as well as the squad.

One area United need to improve is the defence and fans will be expecting big moves to strengthen other key areas of the team.

The clear-out is also expected. Raphael Varane could go, Harry Maguire too and more cover is needed for Lisandro Martinez as well as a new partner.

Lindelof’s contract extension was activated to prevent him from leaving Old Trafford on a Bosman this summer. He has been asked to play at full-back as well as centre-back this season, with a number of his most recent displays coming at left-back due to United’s injury crisis in defence.

While there is a chance Lindelof could see out his contract at United, by staying until 2025, but United could look to sell the Sweden captain at the end of the season. He has made more than 250 appearances for the club since joining from Benfica in 2017.

Lindelof doesn’t feel that a move to Saudi Arabia would be right for him at the moment because he still has something to offer the game in Europe, where football is played at a much higher standard.

“I haven’t actually thought about it,” said Lindelof on a move to Saudi Arabia, as quoted by Fotbollskanalen.

“Maybe I don’t really feel like I’m there in my career, that I want to get down to moving away. I feel that I want to stay in Europe and play football at that level.”

Lindelof has also been linked with Italian duo AC Milan and Juventus.
