Former Blues player Mikel John Obi claims that Victor Osimhen “loves” Premier League giants Chelsea and wants to sign this summer.
Given that he has declared he would leave Napoli at the end of the season, the Nigerian attacker is top of the Blues’ priority list for a summer signing.
Although Osimhen’s contract contains a £113 million release clause and Paris Saint-Germain are predicted to be fierce rivals of Chelsea, Mikel is trying to persuade the player that the Blues are the superior choice.
“I think there is genuine interest between both,” Mikel said at the Web Summit Qatar as quoted by The Standard. “I think he loves the club, he wants to come to the club.
“Obviously, he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea – Victor Moses, Celestine Babayaro, not a lot of us.”

“But he also has a lot of interest. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United. I’m still pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure he doesn’t expect to much, narrow you’re mind on one club – the Blues. I am pushing him, I hope he comes to the club.”
During his four seasons in Naples, Osimhen has scored 72 goals in 122 games for the team, solidifying his status as one of Europe’s top attackers.
The Nigerian striker is being chased by some of the biggest clubs in the world. Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG have all shown interest in signing him.
Recent rumours have linked Osimhen to a move to French champions PSG, who are likely to lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid in the summer.
