An unlikely name has etched his name onto the scoresheet this evening, with Antony opening his account for the season to double Manchester United’s lead vs Barnsley.
Most fans would’ve presumably expected Marcus Rashford to take the spot-kick, but the Brazilian was fouled to win the penalty in the first place and was quick to grab the ball and begin lining his effort up.
As such, Antony now has a contribution to his name, and United lead two goals to nil against the League One outfit in tonight’s third-round Carabao Cup tie at Old Trafford.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina was shown a yellow card prior to the goal for taking down Antony in the area.
