Rasmus Hojlund has opened his account for the 2024/2025 campaign with an early strike to extend Manchester United’s lead vs FC Porto to 2-0.
Tonight’s inclusion in the starting XI marked the Dane’s first of the season, having been sidelined with a hamstring complaint for the first two months of the term.
He’s immediately repaid his manager’s faith, too, by scoring just 13 minutes after Marcus Rashford’s opener to give the Reds something of a comfortable lead to take into the closing stages of the first half.
Hojlund beat a floundering Diogo Costa, who should’ve undoubtedly done better for Rashford’s strike, at the near post. The ball briefly bounced over the line before being cleared, but the referee confirmed the goal would stand.
