A brutal and quite unexpected return to earth. Opposed to Tottenham this Sunday, Aston Villa received a spanking at home against the largely superior Spurs. The Villans’ affairs did not improve in the second half with the stupid sending off of John McGinn.

Visibly uplifted, the local captain settled a dispute with Destiny Udogie in the 65th minute. As the Italian defender hit the center, McGinn came to mow him down with a very dangerous sweep. Christopher Kavanagh, the referee of the match, did not hesitate to draw a logical red to exclude the 29-year-old Scot.
