Kobbie Mainoo has been an incredible addition to Manchester United’s midfield this season after breaking into the first-team as an academy graduate.
It sounds like Erik ten Hag had Mainoo as part of his plans shortly after arriving at Manchester United. The Dutch coach made a pathway for the youngster to break into the first-team, which he has done as a key player at the age of 18.
A video doing the rounds this morning shows Mainoo, aged 16, playing against Chelsea youths two years ago.
Mainoo appears to lose his balance near the line before showing incredible strength and skill to beat his man before driving with the ball towards the box.
The young midfielder was fouled and he won his side a free kick in a dangerous area.

It has become clear this season that United have a special prospect on their hands with Mainoo.
Fans must be patient and let him blossom as a senior professional. He warrants all of the hype and it looks like he is not letting it get to his head.
