Radu Dragusin was shown a straight red card for bringing down Juninho in Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Qarabag on Thursday.
Just eight minutes had passed in a game delayed by travel issues for the visitors, with Spurs clearly not finding their stride as they misplaced several passes.
And disaster struck as Dragusin let a Micky van de Ven pass run across him, seemingly unaware that Brazilian forward Juninho was bearing down on him.
Juninho got the run on Dragusin, who dragged the Qarabag man down rather than allowing him to run clear on goal.
Referee Willy Delajod was left with no choice but to show a red card, prompting Ange Postecoglou to replace a visibly disappointed Lucas Bergvall with defender Destiny Udogie.
