The wrestling world continues to buzz about “Mr. McMahon”, the Netflix docuseries about former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. The six-part series is full of eye-opening quotes, and one highlight comes in the last episode.
In the finale, part of McMahon’s interview airs, and he was asked about potentially retiring. (H/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline.com)
“No, I don’t see myself ever retiring,” Vince McMahon said. “I never understood why people stop growing, When you stop growing, you die. Some people are like ‘I want to retire one day.’ What are you going to do when you retire? I have no sympathy for people like that. So, go die.”
Given the lengthy process of making the documentary, it is unclear when McMahon made these statements. His interviews were recorded before he resigned from WWE in 2022.
Other interview subjects, including John Cena and Hulk Hogan, expressed their doubt that Vince McMahon would ever retire.
Vince McMcMahon previously announced his retirement in 2022. He later returned to WWE but resigned in January 2024 after Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him, John Laurinaitis, and WWE.
At 77, time for me to retire.
Thank you, WWE Universe.
Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful
