Vince McMahon is facing serious allegations from Janel Grant, who has filed a lawsuit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and McMahon himself. The allegations include sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking dating back to March 2019. Recently, Grant requested records from a wellness doctor, and a judge has denied McMahon’s attempt to block this request. In response to the denial, Vince McMahon’s lawyer has issued a statement.
Janel Grant previously filed pre-action discovery petition seeking records from Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. Grant alleges that under Vince McMahon’s direction in November 2019, she received undisclosed treatments, including pills and IV infusions, at the clinic. When she asked about the substances, Dr. Colker reportedly questioned her trust in him.
Judge Jeffrey Meyer recently ruled against McMahon’s attempt to block the petition for these records. While Colker and Peak Wellness are not defendants in the federal lawsuit involving McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, the medical records are sought in a separate Connecticut state court petition filed by Grant.
Brandon Thurston received an updated statement from Vince McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Taub Rosenberg. She criticized Ms. Grant’s attempt to seek discovery in state court despite a federal court stay, describing it as an example of deceitful behavior and a lack of integrity. Rosenberg stated that they will continue to seek a court order to stop Ms. Grant’s actions, in accordance with the federal court’s order.
“Ms. Grant’s attempt to seek discovery in state court despite a stay in federal court exemplifies her consistently deceitful behavior and lack of integrity; we will, per the Federal Court’s order, continue to pursue a court order to stop her.”
Janel Grant’s state filing alleges that Vince McMahon directed her to receive treatment at Peak Wellness in Greenwich, Conn., where she was given pills and IV infusions. According to Grant, Dr. Carlon Colker, who operates the clinic, refused to disclose the specifics of these treatments. She also claims that the medical records she has received are inconsistent and inaccurate. With McMahon’s motion to block the petition denied, the case’s progression will be closely watched.
