Vince McMahon’s long-awaited documentary, Mr. McMahon, has been released, drawing attention from wrestling fans worldwide who are eager to learn more about the controversial former WWE Chairman. With that said, it appears he hired a new PR firm ahead of the documentary’s release.
As reported earlier, Vince McMahon is no longer represented by the public relations firm Sitrick And Company. The partnership, which began in April, ended after only five months. Sitrick And Company, headed by PR strategist Michael Sitrick, is known for handling crisis management for notable clients like Roy Disney and Kobe Bryant.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Vince McMahon has hired Edendale Strategies as his new PR and media representative, replacing Sitrick And Company.
According to the report, those close to the situation believe McMahon made the switch ahead of the Mr. McMahon Netflix documentary’s release because he feels that Edendale Strategies, led by President Tony Freinberg, is better suited to handle the modern media landscape. The firm is seen as having a stronger grasp of the digital and online reporting world, which McMahon considers crucial at this stage.
We also reported that hours’ worth of footage had to be removed from the Vince McMahon documentary. Regardless, the documentary has certainly reinforced the perception of Vince McMahon in many ways, and fans now wonder if more documentaries about him will ever be made.
