The 38-year-old former Burnley manager, who was relegated to the Championship with the Clarets this season, was named Thomas Tuchel’s replacement earlier this week.

Zinchenko and the former Manchester City defender briefly shared the pitch at the Etihad, and Bayern are rumoured to be looking for other left-back alternatives in light of the likelihood that Alphonso Davies may soon leave.

According to The Mirror, Bayern are keeping an eye on the Arsenal left-back, who is now third choice behind Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior at the Emirates Stadium.

After signing for Arsenal over two years ago, Zinchenko quickly established himself as a fan favourite by playing an inverted left-back position that propelled the Gunners into title contention.

The 27-year-old started 20 of his 27 Premier League games in 23/24 out of 32 games that were available due to injuries and inconsistent form.

The former Manchester City player still has two years remaining in his contract at the Emirates, but Arsenal are not thought to be planning negotiations about a renewal at this time.

The Gunners have already committed a number of important players to new contracts.

In addition, Arteta fielded Zinchenko for just 49 minutes total across his two appearances in Arsenal’s final six games of the season.

Zinchenko should consider a move away from Arsenal

With Jurrien Timber regaining full fitness, a way back into the starting line-up for Zinchenko looks more difficult than ever.

A move away from the Emirates Stadium to join his former teammate Kompany could benefit the Ukrainian left-back.

His career can start again in a new environment where he is likely to get more playing time and first team opportunities than under Arteta.

He would be a like to like replacement of Davies, who is also known for his attacking ability and pace.
