One month before the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Vinicius seems very well on his way to succeeding Lionel Messi on the list.

On October 28, the 68th edition of the

Ballon d’Or France Footballin Paris, at the Théâtre du Chatelet. According to the newspaper Marca,

Vinicius Junior will be the winner of this trophy

honoring the best footballer of the year.

A reward that would be well deserved if we are to believe Carlo Ancelotti. “I think Vincius deserves it, for everything he achieved last season, for his effectiveness especially in the Champions League. He allowed us to win this competition by scoring in the semi and final. I think he’ll win it, but if he doesn’t, it won’t matter.” declared the Real Madrid coach at a press conference on the eve of the derby against Atlético.

Vinicius crowned, Mbappé ousted from the podium?

Author of a quadruple last season, the Brazilian international could find his teammate Jude Bellingham on the Ballon d’Or podium. Kylian Mbappé is not sure if he will appear there. The Spaniard Rodri, winner of the Euro with La Roja and the Premier League with Manchester City, seems better placed to complete him.

As a reminder, three criteria are retained by the organizers: individual performance, track record and fair play, and the player’s positive attitude. One hundred journalists from one hundred different countries, representing the top one hundred countries in the FIFA rankings, take part in the vote.
