Vinicius, the big punishment

Vinicius was expected to be suspended for two matches, and this has been confirmed by the Federation, according to Diario AS. However, this is not a sanction applied in all competitions, but only in La Liga.

So, Vinicius will be available for Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, starting with Thursday’s semi-final against Mallorca. If Carlo Ancelotti’s side reach the final, in which the 24-year-old scored a hat-trick last season, they could also face Athletic Club or Barcelona.

A modified sanction?

On the other hand, Vinicius will be absent for Real Madrid’s next two league matches, which will take place against Las Palmas (home) and Real Valladolid (away). Even though it’s a blow, there’s no doubt that Los Blancos would have preferred it to go this way, as they should be able to win these games quite comfortably without their talisman.
