During the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup between Real Madrid and Mallorca (3-0), Vinicius Jr once again attracted attention, not only for his performance, but also for his altercations with Pablo Maffeo , right side of Mallorca. Tensions between the two players, already well known in La Liga, reached a new height after provocative comments made by Maffeo before the match. The latter declared in a podcast:

“I would knock him out in 10 seconds in a boxing match. »

On the pitch, Vinicius Jr responded with provocations after Jude Bellingham opened the scoring, telling his opponent:

“Go home, you suck.” » Carlo Ancelotti, the Madrid coach, tried to calm his player, asking him to stay focused. But the atmosphere deteriorated further at the end of the match, with a general scuffle triggered by a gesture from Bellingham.

Clashes in the corridors

After the match, Vinicius Jr, replaced before the final whistle, was filmed in the corridors of the stadium, visibly furious. He tried to confront Mallorca players, notably Manu Morlanes, who allegedly provoked the Brazilian. The Real Madrid staff had to intervene to restrain him and avoid a new incident.

According to Spanish media Jijantes, these heated scenes continued until the teams returned to the locker room. For his part, Pablo Maffeo was prevented from speaking in the mixed zone by his press officer, declaring: “I wanted to speak, but I would have said what I thought…”
