Violent J wants Juggalo Championship Wrestling to reach the level of GCW one day.

The Insane Clown Posse member helped launch JCW back in 1999. The company has had hiatuses over the years, but has run full-time since 2011.

They recently announced a new series for their promotion, while admiring how Brett Lauderdale is running his promotion.

Violent J spoke with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard about his future hopes for JCW. The ICP star admits that he “admires the f*** out of GCW”, and spoke with GCW owner Brett Lauderdale about how they have grown in the industry over the years.

He added that his goal is to get JCW to that level one, although it might be without the deathmatch aspect GCW is known for.

“I’ve been talking a lot with Brett from GCW. I love picking his brain and I could do that for hours, I like to consider him a friend of mine. And I admire the f*** out of GCW, brother. If I could get my company anywhere, I would like to be where they are to where they put a show on. People know what to expect before they even announce any talent.”

“They know what to expect from GCW. They know you’re going to get a level of entertainment guaranteed from a GCW show. I want JCW to have a similar reputation. But we’re not very big into deathmatches anymore. I personally only like to see deathmatch stuff in like blow-offs and things like that.”

Violent J: JCW Takes Inspiration From Multiple Companies

Violent J continued. He added that he takes influence from everyone when running JCW, naming companies like AAA and MLW that inspire him.

He even went down to Mexico to do a show with AAA, to learn more about how they run their promotion. However, he notes that Brett Lauderdale has been the most generous with his advice about running his business.

“Every promotion is different. Every promotion has its own feel and its own taste and flavor. And JCW is no different, man. But I take influence from everybody. From MLW, I like the efficiency and the organization they had in their shows. I like to watch it all. I check it out and watch the way they were doing their vignettes and their promos, and how they come in and set it up and shoot it and leave. I’d watch it all and kind of follow them around. I’m taking pieces from all these promotions.” Violent J said.

“I was even trying to learn things from AAA when I went down there and did a show with them. I was trying to learn from all these promotions. And I thank them all. I but I probably thank Brett [Lauderdale] the most because he’s been the most open with me as far as giving me advice on things like that. I really like Brett.”
