Vivo Energy Ghana on Wednesday donated assorted medical equipment to the New Horizon Special School in Accra as part of the company’s “Energising Hope Campaign” which is meant to help with the day-to-day operations of the school.
Themed: ‘Leaving No One Behind,’ the presented items included, Glucometers, Pulse Oximeter, Thermometer Guns, Digital Weighing Scale, First Aid Boxes, Gloves, Blood Pressure Monitors, Face Masks and Sanitisers.
Presenting the items, the Corporate Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana, Mrs Shirley Tony Kum, said the donation was necessary for ensuring the well-being and proper care of the pupils.
She noted that the items would further enhance the quality of life, support their medical needs and facilitate their educational development.
Additionally, she stated the items would reduce financial burden on the school and enable them to allocate resources towards other programmes and services.
“We are excited to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day with pupils and teachers at New Horizon Special Needs School.
The Energising Hope Campaign, an annual initiative by Vivo Energy Ghana for underserved communities and the underprivileged, is aimed at providing resources, support and opportunities that empower individuals and communities to overcome challenges, access essential services towards building sustainable futures,” she said.
Mrs Kum said it was their vision to become Africa’s leading and respected energy business as Vivo Energy Ghana made it an integral part of its business to invest in the communities where it operates.
“We want to create lasting social and economic benefits for these communities and engage with them to earn their respect and trust,” she said.
The Deputy Principal for Vocational Section of the school, Mrs Mariama Obeng, thanked Vivo Energy for their kind gesture that it would go a long way to help in the medical operations of school.
However, she called on other benevolent and well-to-do in society to come to the aid of the special school as their population keeps increasing.
