Voltron

Deadline reports a pitch package for a live-action Voltron movie from director Rawson Marshall Thurber has ignited a bidding war “among both studios and streamers.”

Little Red

Deadline also reports Neil Marshall is attached to produce Little Red, a horror movie based on the European fairy tale, “Little Red Riding Hood,” from director Craig Conway. Described as a “low-budget horror-thriller,” the movie “will reimagine the Little Red Riding Hood story through a contemporary lens. It will follow a fifteen year-old girl who unravels the dark secrets in her family. Casting has yet to be revealed.”

National Treasure 3

Appearing as a guest on the National Treasure Hunt podcast (via Screen Rant), screenwriter Ted Elliot shared a few details on his plans for National Treasure 3–should it ever see the light of day.

Riley has changed more [than anybody else.] If you just look at the two points that are established for him in the first and second movies. In the first one, he is the uninformed audience. […] That’s the role he plays. He’s the guy who says, ‘What are you talking about there?’ In the second one he’s written a book about cryptohistory. And he’s right! He knows something Ben didn’t know about history. I just have to think that that’s continued. It becomes more difficult to do the history exposition because […] there are things [Riley] can know now. […]

In terms of writing the third movie, there is, I think, a change to Ben and Riley’s inner relationship that I think both actors will really enjoy. […]

Agent Sudusky is dead. I’m treating the TV series as canon […] I’m trying to do something different with the FBI than was done in the previous two movies. There’s still the pursuers, there’s still the force for law and order, but just the way they operate I’m trying to do something just a little bit different.”

Subservience

Megan Fox plays an android who rebels against the family she’s been purchased to do housework for in the trailer for Subservience, co-starring Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Atanas Srebrev, Andrew Whipp, Matilda Firth, and Kate Nichols.

The King Tide

A child with rejuvenating superpowers becomes an island community’s unwilling messiah in in the latest trailer for The King Tide, coming to VOD this August 16.

Alien: Romulus

We also have a Japanese trailer for Alien: Romulus containing lots of new footage.

Bat Boy

According to Deadline, a TV series based on the Weekly World News’ creation Bat Boy is now in development from Riverdale‘s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and One Piece‘s Joe Tracz. Described as a “coming-of-age series adaptation,” Bat Boy will focus on a “teen named Bobby Bates. With the help of fellow teens Charisma and her weird sister Olive, Bobby re-enters mainstream society after living in seclusion on the outskirts in the remnants of a long-dissipated carnival. When Bobby enrolls at Cypressville High, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery while attempting to find his place among his new peers and society and trying to solve a mystery bubbling up from the Florida swamps. All that while rocking his half-bat-like features like sharp teeth and pointy ears–oh, there’s also the small matter of his need for human blood. Think, Edward Scissorhands meets Nightmare Alley-ish.”

Time Bandits

Finally, Spoiler TV has a synopsis for “Medieval,” the third episode of Time Bandits. Click through for images.

The Bandits pose as dragon slayers in England and feel the wrath of a wicked sheriff. Saffron embarks on her own search for answers.
