WAFU-17:Ghana Coach Resigns Ahead Golden Eaglets Clash

Black Starlets of Ghana head coach, Laryea Kingston has announced his resignation following his team’s defeat to Burkina Faso.

The hosts fell to a 2-1 defeat against the Burkinabes in their semi-final tie at the WAFU B U-17 Championship on Saturday night.

The defeat cost the Black Starlets a place at the 2024 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Kingston announced his resignation and got off the team bus on its way back to their hotel after the game against Burkina Faso.

Ghana will face eternal rivals Nigeria in the third-place match on Tuesday.

Holders Nigeria were dethroned by Cote d’Ivoire,who defeated them 1-0 in the second semi-final also Saturday.

Laryea’s assistants and the technical director of the Ghana Football Association will reportedly take charge of the Black Starlets against the Golden Eaglets.
