IMG Credit: WWEHe’s still got it? There are certain stars in WWE who are important enough that the company will keep them around even after their in-ring careers are over. These stars are often legends who are able to help WWE by doing something behind the scenes, often in the developmental system. One of the bigger names in WWE history is doing just that but things took a slightly different path this week.

This week’s NXT featured a backstage segment involving Eddy Thorpe and General Manager Ava. Thorpe was unhappy with a decision that Ava made and grabbed her arm. Ava shoved him away but someone else was rammed into a door, which bounced into Ava and knocked her down. This caused NXT executive Shawn Michaels to shove Thorpe against a wall and then eject him from the building. This marked the first time in months that Michaels has done anything physical on the show, though there is nothing to suggest he will be having any sort of match as a result.

Opinion: While I can’t imagine Michaels getting back in the ring for anything at this point, it is a rather big deal to see him doing something like this. If nothing else, it shows how serious things got and makes Ava eels more important. It also makes me wonder who will be showing up to deal with Thorpe, as messing with Ava like that could have some serious consequences.
