WWE has released new footage of CM Punk’s return at WWE Survivor Series 2023.
CM Punk shocked the world at WWE Survivor Series 2023. He made his return to WWE nearly a decade after he left the company in 2024. It was a night where Triple H said that “hell froze over”, as Punk came out at the end of the show and received a thunderous reception from the fans.
One year later, WWE has shared a video that featured never-before-seen footage of CM Punk’s return at WWE Survivor Series.
CM Punk’s WWE Return
Punk’s WWE return was detailed by a torn triceps that he suffered in the Royal Rumble, as the injury sidelined him for the next several months. He then continued to make appearances on WWE programming, and he was locked in a heated feud with Drew McIntyre. Punk made his in-ring return at WWE SummerSlam, where he lost to McIntyre. He then beat McIntyre in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin.
The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre came to a head at WWE Bad Blood. There, Punk beat McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match. Punk was then absent until the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown. At the end of the show, Paul Heyman revealed that he was the fifth man on the OG Bloodline’s team for WarGames at WWE Survivor Series.
