IMG Credit: WWEWe’re not done yet. As it tends to be, WrestleMania Weekend was the busiest of the wrestling year. There are all kinds of wrestling events going on and those are just under the WWE banner. The company had quite the successful string of events, beginning with SmackDown and ending with this week’s Monday Night Raw. However, the show was not quite over.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Would Know: The Rock Gives Update On His WWE Status, Plans For The Future
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw ended with CM Punk making a surprise appearance to cost Drew McIntyre the match. Following the show, Punk addressed the crowd in a clip that has been uploaded to WWE’s YouTube account. Punk spoke about his history in Philadelphia and what the city meant to him. He also promised that the next time WWE was in Philadelphia, he would be in his wrestling boots. Punk also thanked the people who help put on WWE events both in front of and behind the scenes. Punk is currently out of action while recovering from a torn tricep.
This was a nice ending. Check out the clip plus what Punk has done recently:
Opinion: Punk is one of the best choices to be put in this spot and it worked well. He is someone the fans are going to react to positively most of the time and he did just fine here. It is clear that Punk has a connection to Philadelphia and if he is able to do his thing, he can still make some magic on the microphone. Hopefully he is able to get back in the ring sooner rather than later, as he seems to be doing well so far.
