This can derail any plans that a promotion might have for them and there is very little that can be done. At the same time, there is always the chance that a wrestler’s injury could merely be part of a storyline. Thankfully that seems to be the case this week with someone in a prominent role.

The end of last week’s AEW Dynamite saw Hangman Page favoring his ankle, leading to conflicting reports about whether his injury was legitimate or part of a storyline. This week’s Dynamite opened with Page coming to the ring on a crutch and saying he was out of the triple threat match at Revolution, also involving Swerve Strickland and AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. Strickland and Joe then came out and argued, with Page attacking Strickland and saying he was still in the title match before leaving with no problems.
