This week on NXT, Lexis King defeated Charlie Dempsey to become the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion. The win came after King’s corner man William Regal offered him brass knuckles but King turned them down. Regal then hit King with a left hand, resulting in the referee thinking Dempsey had used the knuckles and forcing a disqualification to make King champion. This is King’s first title in NXT.

Opinion: The ending has me wondering where things are going as King may or may not have been in on Regal’s method to win the title. At the same time, what matters the most is that King has won something, as he has been close multiple times before but it never happened. For now, King is the champion and we get to see just how things go from here, which should be interesting.
