Metro PD is trying to keep the public safe with a couple of tips, including discouraging the display of “high-value items,” such as high-end sneakers and other valuables. If someone’s style must include designer items, PD warns folks to try to be discreet and not draw too much attention.

Three Students Designer Sneakers Recently Robbed

Earlier this month, three students had their designer sneakers, Balenciaga and Jordans, snatched from their feet in Southeast D.C. Fox 5 DC reports that the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 15. A suspect described as Black with a darker complexion and male, reportedly ran up on the students, flashed a gun and demanded their “sh*t.”

They handed the Jordan Blue Thunders, costing a little over $200, a pair of white-and-black Jordans that cost about $280, and the $1,100 Balenciagas. At this time, police don’t have anyone in custody for the stick-up.
