Manchester United are expected to appoint Dutch football manager Rene Hake as the club’s new assistant manager next season.
The 52-year-old is currently the head coach of Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can wrap up the move to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
The director of Go Ahead Eagles, Paul Bosvelt has now revealed that it would be an exciting opportunity for Rene Hake to join a club like Manchester United. However, the Red Devils are yet to make an official approach for the 52-year-old and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
“We are aware of the interest, but United has not yet reported to us. We understand that it is a great opportunity. But we will have to wait and see,” he said via Sport Nieuws.
It seems that Erik ten Hag is ready to reshuffle his backroom stuff this summer. Reports from Voetbal International claim that Hake has an amicable relationship with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, and therefore the move is hardly a surprise.
Man United opportunity could tempt Rene Hake
Manchester United had a disappointing season by their standards last year and they missed out on Champions League qualification. They will look to bounce back strongly next year and they need the right additions in order for that to happen. Along with the playing squad, the backroom staff is in need of upgrading and it seems that the Red Devils are already working towards it.
Time will tell whether Hake can come in next season and make a defining impact at Old Trafford. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join them in any capacity will be quite enticing for most coaches.
