Robert Lewandowski has said that Barcelona can beat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, adding that the Blaugrana can capitalize on the euphoria that Los Blancos might be in after beating Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Lewandowski is determined to lead Barcelona’s attack in the upcoming Clasico on Sunday. The Polish forward hopes to boost his team’s La Liga title chances and has expressed confidence in their strategy to defeat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

“We know how to beat Real Madrid. We know them and we have analyzed the mistakes we made the last time we faced each other,” he was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

“We know that if we minimize their virtues we can beat them at the Santiago Bernabeu.”

“The euphoria for the qualifying against Manchester City can make Real Madrid mentally out of the Clasico,” he added.

On the Araujo-Gundogan incident

Meanwhile, after being questioned about a conversation between Ronald Araujo and Ilkay Gundogan following their team’s defeat against PSG in the Champions League, Lewandowski tried to resolve any potential disputes.

Lewandowski confirmed that the team had moved on past the incident, emphasizing that the locker room had already put it behind them.

“I get the impression that the media often cares more about these issues than we do. I think there was nothing wrong with Ilkay’s statement or that it was a personal attack on another person.

“We are men. If there was anything, it was probably explained, but at this moment there is no issue in the locker room,” he said.

Barcelona are currently trailing Real Madrid by eight points in the La Liga standings. A victory in their next match is crucial to keep their chances of defending the league title alive.

Any result other than a win would severely hinder their hopes and allow Real Madrid to extend their lead which is why the pressure is on the Blaugrana to secure the three points and stay in the race for the championship.
