Manchester United are undergoing their final preparations ahead of this evening’s 8.15pm kick-off at the Molineux.
The Reds take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in their return to Premier League action after over two weeks of some much-needed respite on their winter break.
Erik ten Hag has been able to name perhaps his strongest line-up of the term thanks to several returnees finally being available to start from the offset; Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez all oversaw lenghty layoffs and have been sorely missed by supporters.
Altay Bayindir was granted his debut against Newport County last Sunday but has now dropped back to the bench following Andre Onana’s Africa Cup of Nations exit. Marcus Rashford is also deployed in attack after last week’s disciplinary incident saw him omitted from the FA Cup tie.
Speaking to MUTV ahead of kick-off, the manager shared some insight into his decision-making: “Last season he [Rashford] scored here [at the Molineux], so we know what he’s capable of. You feel it’s coming, it’s building between Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford, but also a big part of it is [Alejandro] Garnacho. Overall, I think we have a strong attack and now they have to prove it.
“Altay [Bayindir] did a good job on Sunday, we saw that he is reliable. We have a good goalkeeping department. Andre [Onana] is back and ready to play.”
