After being in the moment of highest hopes, Barcelona have been knocked out by PSG from the Champions League with a 1-4 (agg. 6-4) score.

A straight red card that came in the 29th minute for Ronald Araujo left the Catalan club with 10-men – and completely lost in the field.

Despite Barcelona managing to close the scoreline on level before halftime, a goal that came from Vitinha turned the odds entirely in PSG’s favor, ultimately followed by another two goals from Kylian Mbappe.

Frenkie de Jong spoke to the media following the blow.

“It’s a strong blow. We were convinced of going through. There’s no other choice but to get up and try again,” said the Dutchman.

“We tried, but we couldn’t do it at the end.”

When being asked what grade he would give to Barcelona in this version of the Champions League, De Jong replied: “I don’t know, the grade doesn’t matter. We face challenges. Of course, it was sad.”
