Former Manchester United academy star Danny Webber believes Manchester United have the perfect chance to respond following our dismal defeat at home to Fulham on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag watched his side lose 2-1 in the Premier League yesterday and the result put a dent in our top four hopes.

The team has a chance to respond in the FA Cup on Wednesday night when they take on Nottingham Forest in the fifth round.

Our fifth round tie will take place at The City Ground, where United have already won this season.

MUTV’s Danny Webber believes United will go into the game with extra motivation after suffering defeat to Fulham on Saturday.

“I think it always is when you’ve got something to put right,” Webber said on Matchday Review, as per ManUtd.com. “You get the opportunity very soon to go out there and do a better job next time.”

One of United’s biggest problems this season – along with injuries – has been inconsistency.

Sadly, the defeat meant we’re no longer enjoying an unbeaten run in the Premier League. It was fun while it lasted.

United have already beaten Wigan Athletic and Newport County in the FA Cup this season. Ten Hag will be hoping to add Forest to that list on Wednesday night.

Webber added: “I think we have two things to put right, this performance [against Fulham] and the fact that when we went to Forest at the back of last year, they beat us as well.

“There should now be extra incentive, extra motivation and the fact that is our only remaining chance at silverware as well should be more than enough incentive to go out there and get the win.”
