Hunter Parrish is the latest star to join the cast of Prime Video’s upcoming mystery thriller series. The 37-year-old actor – best known for his roles in Weeds, 17 Again, and It’s Complicated – has been cast in the new thriller series Scarpetta, which stars Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis. Keep reading to find out more…The upcoming series is being based on the series of novels by Patricia Cornwell, and centers on Kay Scarpetta, who is “a chief medical examiner who returns to her former position in Virginia and deals with both gruesome cases and complicated relationships in her work and personal lives.” Nicole will star as the titular character and Jamie will portray her sister Dorothy. In addition to Nicole and Jamie Lee, also cast in the series are Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino; Ariana DeBose as Dorothy’s daughter Lucy Farinelli-Watson; Simon Baker as FBI profiler Benton Wesley; and Rosy McEwen and Jake Cannavale as young Kay and Pete, respectively. According to Variety, Hunter will be playing younger version of Simon‘s Benton Wesley, presumably in flashbacks. Check out all of the shows Prime Video has canceled and renewed so far in 2024.
