The Week 2 of NXT Great American Bash, taking place on August 30 at the Capitol Wrestling Center, featured a highly enthralling title bout between NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan and the uncanny Tatum Paxley.
Tatum Paxley had been wanting to make Kelani Jordan her playmate for weeks while also eyeing her championship. Not to mention, Wendy Choo’s equally sadistic presence loomed in the shadows, who had been developing some association with Paxley for weeks.
The Women’s title bout was a back-and-forth contest in which Jordan and Paxley delivered heavy blows and punches to each other, with the action spilling all over the ringside area. While Kelani brought her impressive athleticism to the mix, Paxley’s mysterious antics were her anchor in her attempt to become the new champion.
Moreover, towards the end of the bout, Wendy Choo came out to watch the action unfold at the entrance stage. Despite battling on one leg after she missed a top rope move, Kelani managed to hit the frog splash and secure the pinfall to retain her championship over Tatum Paxley.
But in a shocking turn of events, Wendy Choo attacked her supposed ally, Paxley, while giving a staredown to Jordan, possibly hinting at her own title motives to come in the future.
