Wes Anderson’s Studio Babelsberg Honor

Germany’s Studio Babelsberg has named a building on its studio lot after filmmaker Wes Anderson. The former Haus 5 will now be known as the Wes Anderson Building. The building houses offices and functional spaces for costume and production design. Anderson filmed his latest feature, The Phoenician Scheme, at the studio last year. Anderson has also used the studio for past productions, including Isle of Dogs, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Asteroid City. 

Vernon Davis & Candice Bolden To Star in ‘The Masquerade’ 

Former NFL player Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer) and choreographer Candice Bolden are set to star in The Masquerade, a fantasy-driven drama from Emmy-nominated director Joslyn Rose Lyons. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Ashley Haas (Match Point), Deshuan Thompson (Hidden Lives), Simone Leanora (With 2 You Get Horror), former NFL star Omar Bolden (The Choices We Make), and Mariah McKay. The Masquerade is described as a “captivating fantasy-driven drama with elements of dance and magical realism.”

Longest ‘Bluey’ Episode Set for CBeebies Debut

CBeebies will screen The Sign, an extended episode of Bluey, on April 18. The episode runs 28 minutes long. In the extended episode, the Heeler family home is up for sale, and Bluey’s unhappy. But Bluey’s comforted when Calypso tells her a proverb about a farmer who trusts everything will turn out the way it’s meant to be. The next day, the Heeler home is prepping for Frisky’s wedding, but when it’s revealed that Rad is planning a move out west after the wedding, Frisky runs away. Now Bluey has to experience her own farmer’s proverb.

Asia Argento & Tamer Hassan Set For Cine International Film Festival Jury

The Cine International Film Festival will run this May in London. Alexa Jago, Sadie Frost, Asia Argento, Paul Oakenfold, and Tamer Hassan will serve on the jury. The festival’s opening night will be hosted by Roger Daltrey, frontman of The Who and a jury member. He will also be judging the music category. The event will be run in collaboration with Goldfinch Entertainment.
