According to reports, West Ham United and Manchester United will battle it out for 27-year-old VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

West Ham are reportedly interested in Guirassy, according to a report by the German publication BILD.

Manchester United are likewise considering a move for the 27-year-old striker from VfB Stuttgart. The player’s contract has a €20 million release clause.

Since joining VfB Stuttgart, Guirassy has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most productive strikers.

He was first signed by Stuttgart on loan in September 2022, then last summer, a permanent transfer was finalised.

This season, the striker has been outstanding, especially in the first half of the 2023–24 campaign. In 19 games thus far in all competitions, he has 20 goals and 2 assists.

It makes sense that Man United are interested in Guirassy. After Anthony Martial’s contract ends in the summer transfer window, the Red Devils will let him leave after nine years at the club. Thus, United have to make a striker signing before the 2024–2025 campaign begins, as they need someone to support Rasmus Hojlund.

For the summer transfer window, West Ham are desperate spend money on a striker. Danny Ings and Michael Antonio are past their prime and the Hammers need someone who is prolific.

For West Ham, Guirassy is therefore a viable alternative. And that he is available for only €20 million would be appreciated.

Targeting Guirassy makes sense for both clubs and given his cheap release clause, both the clubs will be looking to sign him to add goals to their lackluster attacks.
