West Ham are set to make a fresh approach for Harry Maguire as he enters the last year of his Manchester United contract.

The Irons attempted to sign the England defender last summer with his career at Old Trafford seemingly all but over.

Erik ten Hag stripped Maguire of the United captaincy and made it clear he was not in his plans going forward, but a £30million move to the London Stadium fell through.

The 31-year-old has since earned his place back in the Red Devils teams with some very good performances, though he has been hit by injury issues.

Nevertheless, much change is expected at the club this summer thanks to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival, and with Maguire’s contract up in 2025 this might be their last opportunity to sell him and raise some much needed funds.

And they may have a buyer with The Sun reporting that West Ham are still interested in Maguire, though they will only be offering £15-£20m this time round.

David Moyes wants to sign a new centre-back who is good in the air and would be willing to offer Maguire a two or three-year deal.

United do have the option to extend his contract by another season as they have done with many other players over the past few months.

Of course, this could all depend on whether or not Moyes is still in charge of West Ham come the summer, with his contract up at the end of the season.

Many fans would like to see a change in the dugout despite the Irons being an impressive seventh in the table and into the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
